Wedding Photography: Carla & Chris

On Sunday I photographed Carla & Chris’ wedding at Brenner’s on the Bayou in Houston, TX. This was a small yet elegant wedding and the ceremony was outside and short and sweet. After the ceremony we had a chance to utilize Brenners’ grounds (which were beautiful!) for some fun bride & groom portraits. It was also really cool to see all the engagement and bridal portraits I had taken used as framed centerpieces for the guests to take home.
I’m glad I got to be apart of their wedding day.

River Engagements: Leigh & Mike

Mike & I met in college and have now known each other for a few years and ever since I have known him he has been with Leigh. They are one of those strange and awesomely lucky couples that met in high school and have been together ever since (now going on 13 years!). After Mike graduated (the same semester I did!) he moved back to Houston and proposed to Leigh. Needless to say I was so excited that Mike was finally going to settle down after taking the 8+ year program through college. I didn’t know Leigh too well during my friendship with Mike but as soon as I met her I realized how sweet she was and how much she really cared about him…. and could see exactly why he wanted to be with her all these years.

Not only are they amazing people, they wanted to amazing things for their engagement session. Mike wore his tuxedo that he wore to his senior prom (yes from that long ago) that he actually attended with Leigh and Leigh purchased a dress from his mother’s thrift store. They both went to school in San Marcos and as everyone knows Texas State is known for being the best town to float in, so it just made sense to incorporate that into the shoot. The pictures truly speak for themselves and I had a blast, so enjoy!!!
My wonderful boyfriend Ben & I did this shoot together and he has some incredible video, check it out at his blog.
Out takes blog post coming soon as well!

Maybe a dangerous situation for my camera, but it helped me get some great shots!

Seeing as we were all from Houston, we also shot there one day. Mike is much more athletic than most people think : )

Engagements: Loren & Derek

Did I mention I love couples that share the same passion? Well here’s another! Both musicians, Loren a singer and Derek a jazz guitarist.
Today (yes, I was eager to make this post!) I shot Loren & Derek’s engagements downtown close to the capitol. We started with some what traditional shots and then head down any random interesting looking alley ways, who would have thought that an alley would be the perfect place for a photo shoot. We also hit up the Long Center at the end of the shoot, where Loren & Derek will be seeing each other on the first time on their wedding day.
They are such an adorable couple with awesome style. I’m really looking forward to seeing some badass jazz music on their wedding day, August 8!

Bridals: Elaine

Today AJ and I shot Elaine’s bridals at the Barr Mansion. It wasn’t too hot and the lighting was perfect! Elaine did a great at job modeling- even though there were 2 photographers in her face at all times- and the dress could not have been more stunning.
Her wedding on June 13th is going to be amazing!

Engagements: Whitney & Tom

Last week I shot Whitney and Tom’s engagements, we started on South Congress then head up to the Long Center for some good skyline pictures. Both being nurses I expected them to be a little more serious, but I was very wrong! Tom was constantly cracking jokes and making goofy faces which of course made Whitney giggle non-stop. It was so fun to be around them and I always love a couple that shares the same passion.

One of my besties is getting married!

Just a few days after I made the post about Ms. Sarah Tucker her boyfriend Jason asked her to be the future Mrs. Sarah Slayden!  I saw her for the first time since the engagement on Wednesday and as soon as I got ahold of my out of control giggling we went to Wildseed Farms, where he proposed. We took a few pictures there as well as any random places we found on the way to Fredericksburg. Nothing better than hanging out with friends and taking pictures.

On Monday I get to help pick out the dress!

Because Wildseed Farms closes at 6 we had to shoot in the bright sun- but my boyfriend, Ben, & I made it work with the help of the new pocket wizards which made it possible for us to shoot at 1/8000sec with flash!
