Brandi’s Bridals at the capitol in Austin

Brandi.was.awesome.
Being a former cheerleader, she was able to hold a stunning smile the whole time without it phasing her a bit, not to mention she looked amazing. It was incredibly hot outside though, so we decided to stay inside for as long as we could- we found places in the capitol building that I didn’t know existed. My favorite quote from the shoot:

me-”Do you want me to get the white sheet to keep your dress from getting dirty”

Brandi- “No, I’m a Texas girl.”…. Love it!

Experimenting with the new pocket wizards, flexTT5 and the miniTT1, it was a little tricky with those huge concrete walls, but it worked!

Austin Wedding: Elaine & Shon

I’m going to start trying to post my blogs of events within a day (assuming I don’t get backed up!) so here we go!
I shot Elaine & Sean’s wedding at the Barr Mansion tonight, I shot as an associate photographer for Arol of AJH photography, which is actually a first for me.  Elaine looked stunning (love her dress!) and Shon was chill the whole time. They were just a really fun couple to shoot, because they wanted to create some fun pictures.

Another creative ‘guestbook’ idea, they wrote on rocks… and particularly love what the one on the left says “she is always right” ;)

The exit turned out great! although I was a little nervous that someone was going to set my hair on fire with one of the sparklers!

Austin Wedding

Last night I shot a wedding at Star Hill Ranch in Austin for Norman of Thanks for the Memories. It may have seemed a little chaotic at first with all the people but everything ran nice and smoothly. The Star Hill Ranch is a really interesting venue that consisted of multiple buildings of which each part of the day was held in a different one, it was almost like a little town made just for weddings. The bride walked down the isle by her mother & father, which I thought was really sweet and the groom shed a few tears while reading his vows. The Spazmatics played at the reception… and they were awesome!! so entertaining with a good variety of music. Here are some of the pictures!

get it? they were married on 6/7! Maybe a little cheesy, but I like it. :)

This was a first for me, a ‘guestbook’ of post cards saying sweet things about the couple.

really good beverages at this wedding! The left tasted like drinking watermelon and I couldn’t help but drink a couple of these Dr. Peppers in a glass bottle!

The Spazmatics!!

I believe they were dancing to “girls just want to have fun”

In the left Al is singing to Journey- “Don’t stop believin’”…. one of my favorite songs ever :)

On Wednesday Ben & I shot a few promo-type shots for his friend’s new venue located in north Austin, McMurtrie Farms. With the help of a couple past brides, friends to do hair and make-up, flowers by Flower Child Design, and one of Enchanted Antique Limo’s awesome cars we had a great shoot- here are just a few of the photos from it!

Austin Wedding: Miranda & Jason

Yesterday I shot Miranda & Jason’s wedding with Ben at Angel Springs in Austin, TX.
I had never met Miranda before her wedding day since I was shooting with Ben but she knew me! I’m assuming because Miranda thinks of Ben as a little brother so I’m sure she had to get the scoop on me :) … Miranda was ridiculously sweet and so were her children, Shyann & Dalton, and Jason is going to be a wonderful ‘new dad’ to them.
They decided to get married on a monday because the day June 1st was the day her grandfather that she loved very much had passed away. The best word to describe this wedding was sweet.

That is Shyann in the purple :)

The lighting was lovely during the ceremony.

Shyann gave one of THE best speeches I had ever heard! It was funny, touching, and not one word of it was written down before hand!!

Jason said he wasn’t going to get any icing on her face… but he totally did!
