Austin Engagement Photography: Jessica & Chris

I hope everyone had a wonderful Turkey day and survived black Friday if they went out! My family and I did the traditional dinner and finished the night with my brother’s delicious cinnamon bread pudding and Trivial Pursuit.

A couple weeks ago I got to shoot Jessica and Chris’ engagement session- we went to the very spot he proposed (in the first couple pictures). Both are graduates of UT so we had to show that Longhorn pride… by jumping over hurdles! There’s something really cool about seeing an entire track field with bleachers almost entirely empty, so we took advantage of the situation.

Huntsville State Park Wedding Photography: Yara & Victor

This past Saturday I, once again, left Austin to photograph Yara and Victor’s wedding. I really love being able to travel as much as I do- don’t get me wrong, I love my Austin weddings, but seeing new places is really fun to me. I had never been to Huntsville State Park before and it was gorgeous! Right on the edge of a beautiful lake surrounded by tall trees of various sorts. I have to mention that this wedding was all ‘do-it-yourself’ and I would never had known if I wasn’t around during the prep. Yara and her team did an amazing job cooking delicious Mexican food (major props to whom ever made the horchata!), decorating the tables and ceremony room with bundles of wheat, pine cones and pumpkins. The most stylish fall themed DIY decorations and attire I have ever seen! Here are some of my faves!

Austin Wedding Photography slideshow: Tara & Matt

Last Saturday I got to shoot Tara and Matt’s wedding photos at the Austin’s Inn at Pearl St. Tara looked beautiful in both of her bridal dresses. The ceremony was short and sweet and people just had a good time chatting and dancing during the reception. Here are some of my favorite photos, as well as a slideshow, enjoy!

Austin Wedding Photography slideshow: Michael + Caitlin

I’ve been a little blog post crazy lately but I just had to post the wedding photos that I shot this past Sunday in Austin at Bella Notte on Main (which is actually in Round Rock). One of my former art student friends from Texas State was actually one of the groomsmen, although Caitlin and Michael didn’t know that when the booked me. Either way, when I found that out I knew they would be a good couple to shoot… and I was right! The wedding was super chill and everyone just had a good time over a few beers and good music. Check out their engagement session here and enjoy the slideshow! :)

Martha + Jeff San Antonio (Boerne) wedding slideshow

This past Saturday I ventured from Austin to Boerne, a little town I have never been to before (which is just outside of San Antonio), to shoot Martha & Jeff’s wedding at Ye Kendall Inn. Truly an amazing couple that have been so good to me. I didn’t know this when I got there but I will also be shooting one of the bridesmaids weddings coming up in May (exciting!). The ceremony was all in Spanish and English and was during the perfect time of day and month for amazing weather and an amazing sky. There was a lot of Jeff’s family in from Canada at this wedding as well as Martha’s family from Mexico, and I have to say that both sides of the family were super nice. The DJ (Atmosphere entertainment) did a great job of keeping everyone dancing until it was time for the exit, in fact the dance floor was so packed I had to stand on a chair a lot of the time to capture everyone!

I think from now on if the wedding is 8+ hours I will be offering the option of a same-day slideshow, like Ben & I did at this wedding. We have typically only done them for weddings in the past if we think we have enough time and usually we just set up the laptop in a corner to play the slideshow on loop… but THIS time since they were already planning to show a slideshow of childhood photos, we simply played it right afterwards for everyone to see on the projector screen. It was amazing and I was so amazed by the sweet things people had to say to me afterwards.

This is an infrared photo taken with Ben’s infrared modified camera. It provides a glowing affect to any greenery and is perfect for outdoor ceremonies.

Bridal party flash composite under sunset sky after San Antonio wedding at Ye Kendall Inn

This would be a flash composite photo- this was 5 separate photos with 5 different locations of the light source photoshopped to create one. I like this because they provide the look of a photo with 5 flashes but instead there is only one! Just a little photoshop magic that doesn’t take much time at all.
