{Austin Engagement Photography} Kathleen+Ryan

One Saturday morning Kathleen gave me a call asking me if I could shoot her and Ryan’s engagement portraits this coming Monday, MLK day… Ryan is such a busy man owning a restaurant in Dallas and what not that he doesn’t get to come down to Austin much. I’m glad I was available! The original plan was to head to the Wild Flower Center, but we didn’t realize it was closed on Mondays, so we went to the next best park, Mayfield Park, then head to South Congress for a more fun and edgy environment. Low and behold I ran into THREE of my other wedding photographer friends while we were there, small world. South Congress is such a common place for me, and many other photographers, that I am constantly trying to find ways to make it new, different, and exciting-which wasn’t a problem with these guys :)
As always here are some of my favorites!
couple hugging and smiling amongst trees
couple laughing at mayfield park
couple kissing by creek at mayfield park
couple looking off during engagement session in Austin
couple sitting on rocks smiling
couple kissing at park, brenizer method
Brenizer Method^
couple in alley way on South Congress

couple kissing with engagement rink, holding hands and in the middle of South Congress with city skyline
couple kissing in reflection behind Amy's ice cream

Timothy E Kaldas - Great shots Caroline. I love the foreground blur in some of the first couple of shots and the reflection in the car with them blending into the bokeh is a really cool idea. Good eye.

paul von rieter - the car reflection is just plain money. It is the most unique use of a reflective surface that I have ever seen. I am totally blown away by how cool it came out.
