Frequently Asked Questions-
Listed below are some of my most frequently asked questions about my Austin wedding photography services.
Can I get prints made anywhere I want with the DVD?
Of course! The images are for YOU! I wouldn’t recommend making prints at Walmart though, with the disc I will provide a list of labs I recommend.
I also offer high quality luster archival prints from a professional lab that are retouched to perfection.
Are all the photos on the DVD edited?
Each and every photo has a standard edit for color, exposure, and contrast. In an extra folder, 60-70 of the photos (the photos you also see in the slideshow) will have premium edits.
All prints & albums made through me get premium edits. To see the difference between straight out of camera, standard edit, premium, and black and white, please visit THIS blog post.
If my package includes the DVD of high-resolution images, why should I buy prints from you
In the days of film each print was meticulously worked on and perfected in the darkroom.
I think of digital prints the same way, often times pictures need that extra step beyond
proof editing to maximize their full potential. Places like Target and Walmart will print on paper with machines that aren’t nearly as high quality as the lab I order from and most times will often ‘color correct’ the images 99.9% of the time make the WORSE.
Do you give us copyrights to the pictures?
You are given a license to print the images for yourself, friends and family.
You cannot sell, edit, or advertise with the photo. Along with the full resolution DVD
comes a web file DVD that can be used to put images online or send them in e-mails. If you would like to use the images for other the reasons I do allow, please contact me and I will be happy to figure something out with you.
I don’t need 6 hours, can you drop the price for less hours?
Saturdays are big days for wedding photographers and since this is my full-time profession, I really prefer not to do any less.
We don’t need the engagement session, is there a discount for that?
I consider the session to be a freebie and a wonderful chance to get to know the couple better, so I would much rather be the person to shoot them. If you’re an ‘out of towner’ I will offer a $200 discount.
Do I have to buy an album now or can I buy it later?
Either!
How many photographs do you take at a wedding?
This number can vary anywhere from 400-2000, but during the editing process I narrow down
this number to something between 200-600. Because there are 2 photographers at every wedding there are duplicate photos, blinks, blurs, and a few under exposures. In the creative process we get rid of photos making sure not to delete any important moments we think the bride and groom would deem important. That’s the beauty of digital photography, we can take as many pictures as we want to ensure that we get the perfect one. I would not give away raw files but I assure you that there is nothing you would miss.
When you photograph a wedding, how long do you need for the formal photographs?
About 30 minutes but if you want to get creative shots of the Bride and Groom and/or the
bridal party, then I will need an additional 20-30 minutes.
What if things run later than planned, will you stay?
I understand when people get behind, I will stay 30 minutes longer than planned without charging,
any time after that will be extra cost at my normal hourly rate.
Ok, I’m ready to book, now what?
For me to save the date, I require a non-refundable deposit of 1/3rd of the final amount
and a signed contract. The rest of the balance is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding. After I send you the proposal, everything is
done online through the super easy program ShootQ, in which you can review the contract,
sign it, as well as pay. Better than having to deal with stamps I think :) (although it is still an option).
Do you accept credit cards?
I do! Payments can be paid through Google checkout.
What if something happens and you can’t be at my wedding for some reason?
I make every effort and precaution to be early to every wedding. If something tragic were to
happen prior to the wedding day I have a network of Professional Photographers who I can
contact to cover your event. You can feel comfortable knowing that you are in good hands.
Do you travel?
Yes! I love to travel! I apply no extra charge for Austin/San Antonio but anywhere
beyond, expenses do apply- ask me about destination weddings as well!
